The India Army prevented six members of a family including three women from crossing over to the Pakistan-occupied-Jammu-Kashmir and handed them over to the police for further necessary action in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.Official sources here on Wednesday said that six members of a family from village Golad, tehsil Mendhar, on Tuesday were detained by the Army while they were on their way to enter the POJK via Chakkan-da-Bagh.


Land dispute within the family was the reason that prompted them to take this extreme step, said an official adding, they were handed over to the police and a case has also been registered while legal action initiated for illegally trying to cross the border.


As per one of the senior members of the family, they have had a land dispute for years and also claimed that nobody is listening to their appeals that forced them to take this step, said an official.

He added that the matter is being investigated and further course of action will be taken accordingly.
